Don’t forget Singapore’s achievements
We were so busy looking at Yeoh Li Tian’s success we overlook that Singapore has shown improvements in their junior program too. Here’s how they fared in the recent Turkey tourney.

GACC closing ceremony tonight
I totally did not cover the GACC tournament. What a waste!! I wish I went over today to see the final rounds but missed it.
Anyway tonight is the closing ceremony and I will be there. At least, I can get the results (hopefully) at the dinner. I’ll take pictures of the prize winners there too.
Compomanes vs Santhara
Opening ceremony of the ASEAN+ Youth Team Chess Championships. Florcencio Campomanes vs Edmund Santhara, The announcer mistakenly mentions it’s the “Caro-Kann Defense” but the opening moves were 1.d4 d5 2. c4 c6.
Lots of press people were there but a pity that the pictures did not appear in the local newspapers for this particular opening [...]
