Singapore vs Malaysia - Are we in trouble?
If you take a look at the detail results of the previous 2007 we lost by a big margin but seem to do pretty well in the junior. My feeling is that initially, Malaysians beat the Singaporeans in terms of numbers for the really young age groups like the under 8. However I think that we should not be complacent. In terms of giving our juniors consistent and organised coaching we still lose out to the Singaporeans. As our juniors grow older they seem to lose to their Sin gaporean counterparts. Why? I can only speculate. A good example was how talented Mas was when he was at a very young age but could not develop is talents further during his teenage years. Hopefully he will realise his dream in the next 18 months.
Let’s hope there’s change and improvement for our new batch of potential juniors. There must be some consistent and long term training plan for them and not random coach hopping to try to get better.
