Missed tactic lead to last round loss

Mas played a relatively low rated player Shiven Kosla (2086) in the ninth round of the Dubai 2008 Open. Unfortunately he had the misfortune to lose because he missed a tactic by his opponent on the 25th move.

Cheating via SMS

 
A player from the recently ended Dubai 2008 Open was caught cheating. He actually got caught while playing one of the top finishers, GM Li Chao.
M. Sadatnajafi, with an Elo rating of 2301, while playing against Chinese Grandmaster Li Chao, made his moves based on the text messages he received on his mobile phone.
