Missed tactic lead to last round loss

Mas played a relatively low rated player Shiven Kosla (2086) in the ninth round of the Dubai 2008 Open. Unfortunately he had the misfortune to lose because he missed a tactic by his opponent on the 25th move.

White has just advanced his e-pawn to harass Black’s knight on f6.

Black in turn harasses White’s Queen in an in-between move before his Knight jumps away.

Mas misses this tactic Rxh2.
Best move according to the computer was Qg3 and that tactic would have been avoided 26. Qg3 Nh5 27. Qf2+ Rf4  28. Qe2 would have been equal.

Mas avoided capturing the Rook because of Black’s Qh4+ and played Kg1 instead. Rh1+ came instead. And the resulting position wasn’t much different if White had captured on h2 with the King.
