This is perhaps something we have to do also for the coming Malaysian Open. They used the MyChess java applet to display the games. However I feel that it’s a bit slow on some machines and prefer the above flash interface. Incidentally the flash chess boards you see above is also written by Phillipino Robert Ambalang. :)

Chess players better get a good chess calendar or daily organiser to jot down all the crazy weekend tournaments coming up. Here’s another tournament right after they had one big one some weeks back.

 

Organiser : The tournament is organised by the Johor Chess Academy and JB Chess
Association
Venue : Plaza Pelangi Johor Bahru
Date & Time : Sunday, 22nd June 2008

Time Control : Swiss system of 7 rounds with 25 minutes per player to complete the game

Catagory : 3 catagories, namely Open, Under 16 & Under 12

Entry Fees : Open – RM30, Under 16 – RM 12 & Under 12 – RM10

Prizes : Open : RM400,RM200,RM100,RM80,RM70,RM60, RM50 till 10th placing

Under 16 : RM200, RM100, RM80,RM60,RM50,RM40, RM40,RM30,RM30

Under 12 :RM100,RM80, RM60, RM50, RM40, RM30, RM30,RM20 till 10th place

Closing Date : 20th June 2008
