2nd Philippines Open: Top 6 board games from Round 3

The National Chess Federation of Philippines website is doing a good job in updating the results. They even put up the top 6 games live on their website.







 

This is perhaps something we have to do also for the coming Malaysian Open. They used the MyChess java applet to display the games. However I feel that it’s a bit slow on some machines and prefer the above flash interface. Incidentally the flash chess boards you see above is also written by Phillipino Robert Ambalang. :)

I think there is something wrong with the Bellecer vs Le Quang Liem game. If I’m not mistaken, the white queen seems to be hanging on move 14…and a 2400 player would not play 13.h3 in that variation.

You are right Ken Wei. I guess they made a mistake or rather the DGT board (as is common) made a mistake recording some of the moves.

OMG, all the games seem to be wrong. Look at Ghaem Maghami’s game…all the games seem to feature queens hanging?? LOL!
