My Round 1 game

I took white against Jax Tham and he played the Caro Kann, the very opening I was planing to play as Black. Still, his version was pretty passive and he practically forced me to play easy but naturally strong moves. In the middle game I had a slight advantage but didn’t know what to do. That in turn, lead me to the loss at the end. :( Perhaps that’s Jax strategy against patzers like me. Give us enough rope, and we will go and hang ourselves :)

The plan to sac the a2 pawn for a “winning” attack on the 7th rank was an illusion. Better if I just defended my keeping my Queen and Rook on the d-file. It would have led to a likely draw.
