Since I’m Gilachess, why use the plain Google start page when I can customised it to include chess too ?
Here’s my Google start page complete with a GilaChess Logo instead of the familiar Google logo.
There is a countdown to the National Closed (11 days) and chess headlines taken from sites like Hairulov, [...]

Subic Open: Round 4 Susanto vs Mas
So far Mas is playing well. His position looks active and Fritz evaluates this as slightly better for White (+0.71). But as with any Sicilian games the position can be volatile and Fritz evaluation can quickly change in either direction with just one move.

My game vs CM Colin Madhavan
Colin Madhavan vs GilaChess(Black)
This is the final position of my game vs Colin Madhavan. Black just moved Bg7. My opening was NOT good at all but my strategy was to get as messy a position as possible and that would definitely be to my advantage as Colin has less than a minute to [...]
Heard of GilaChess.com?
It’s funny that I’m now known as GilaChess.com the website instead of Andrew Ooi the patzer Both chess events I’ve been introduced and linked to GilaChess.com website. In the Port Klang tourney I asked at random one of my opponents from outstation if he had heard of GilaChess.com. He said he did and [...]

Port Klang tourney - Pictorial report
I always do this to myself. Wake up late and rush to the tournament.
This time I compounded it by taking the wrong train to Seremban instead of Port Klang !!
While rushing down the Sentral station I saw a train pull out and its doors were closing. Not checking I just jumped right in only [...]
Li Chao pictures
Should have taken more pictures of Li Chao when he was in Malaysia. He is doing well in the Asian circuit - recently emerging champ in the 2nd Philippines Open. Anyway, someone asked for permission to include the above picture of Li Chao with Dato Tan from last year’s DATMO for Wikipedia inclusion. Of [...]

Colin’s record breaking Simul
I’m having lunch at KFC today because I noticed they have FREE WiFi.
I had the chance to go to Seremban to witness Colin Madhavan’s simul against 88 players. Thanks to Jax Tham whom I hitched a ride there.
Contrary to what I first thought, the simul is open to ANYBODY, both strong or weak. We were [...]

States gearing up for National Closed
Johor is making it’s selection for players to represent the state for the National Closed on the 31st May 2008.
Johor Closed is held on the 25th May just one week before the tournament. I’m sure the other states are also making their selections. Just no news about tourneys posted yet.
