Tough Selangor Open
This has to be the toughest Selangor Open I have ever taken part in.
Even a patzer like me met 5 rated players in 7 rounds !! With about 33 rated players out of a total of 62 I guess that is not suprising.
The young boy above (Derek Poon) was one of my unrated opponent. I thought it would be an easy game after a good opening advantage (winning 2 pawns). However, Derek made me sweat in the endgame to earn my full point. That’s how tough the tournament is. Only one of my game is notable and that’s the win over NWM Khairunissa.
