Hantu Chess!
Here’s another new chess blog titled Chess dan Dot dot dot,,, I want to promote and it’s by Ahmad Eizran Ezra. He is no pushover in chess either. I’m impressed by Eizran’s play in the Taylor as he quietly beat strong players such as Ismail Ahmad, Abdullah Che Hassan, Nur Shazwani and Cheah Cheok [...]
Wan Khye Theng’s blog
Met Wan Khye Theng who was instrumental in helping out with the organisation of Taylor’s Open last week. I found it strange that she said I linked to her blog as I never knew she had a blog. Man I must be getting senile in my old age..
Luckily a quick Google search confirmed I have [...]
MAINS Seremban results
As usual Ian Udani conquered this one day event as he done so with other one day events these past few months. Ian finished an outstanding 6/6 and takes home RM 500 for his efforts. He beat Ganesh, Andrew Ooi, Abdullah Khairi KZ, Jax Tham, Kamaluddin Yusof and Mohammad Nabil.
Funniest quote from him was “There [...]
Sicilian Silicide
Death to the Sicilian !!!
Does anybody remember this old video (in the ancient VCR format) called Silicide? It is rather old but I recently took a look at it and found it was a gem!

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 (any [...]

Is National Rating that important?
Had this “conversation” in the shoutbox with Malaysian and I am of the opinion that the National Rating is not that important. At least not the speed of updates anyway. I just don’t understand the commotion made about how “late” the updates are.
To be fair, most of the updates match the time FIDE rating list [...]
Happy Birthday Anas
Today is FM Anas Nazreen Bakri’s birthday!!
Malaysians are pirates!
Yeah. Stating the obvious. In relation to chess, I’m surprised how fast Fritz 11 (pirated) came out right after the original was released. Only in a space of a few weeks and it’s already here in our pasar malam and some shopping complexes that still allow pirated cds to be sold. Of course, the [...]
