Jax noticed that his opponent was just scribbling his moves after around move 25. The arbiter was called but no action taken. In protest Jax resigned his game.

Who was the arbiter? How can it be that no action was taken?

First it was 2-handed chess and now not recording moves…. IF everything was as reported, the arbiter should be red-carded. How can Malaysian chess improve when basic rules are not followed and allowed to pass without penalty?

same as what had happen to me last national closed 2008..the arbiter didnt take any action on my claim…made me given up that game..even i played at the back table but rules are still rules.

actually, jax is calling the chief arbiter not GACC guys when he made the complaint and i THINK, the chief arbiter is a IA.

There is an action taken on jax’s oppenent. The chief arbiter deduce two minutes from the oppenent’s clock.

To be honest, Fide Laws of Chess did not mention about what type of punishment to be taken on this matter. So, in my opinion, the desicion is correct. Jax should complaint earlier and not after 10+ moves.

If after the complaint, the opponent did it again, a second action/warning will be given to him. And if he did it for the third time, he may lost the game due to the rule of the player refuse to obey the laws but not due to not recording.
