A song started to play in the tournament hall and it was obvious someone forgot to turn off his/her handphone.
Grim Reaper buy It kept ringing for an awkward 10 seconds and all the eyes of the players were zeroing on the source. It was from Emanuel Senador and he could not pretend it was not his phone anymore and turned it off. His opponent immediately extended his hand to accept Senador’s resignation.

European Union Championships, Liverpool. Round 3.
Round 2 Nigel Short lost when his mobile phone went off. It is a new one and he was sure he’d switched it off. It was a low battery signal rather than a phone call too (in fact this is the only situation it would have made a noise). He accepted the loss without complaint.
