Pichay cup over

It was a great experience to witness a chess event outside of Malaysia for once. It was very similiar to Malaysian Open but with some obvious differences. The large amount of prize money for the back to back PGMA-Pichay Cup tournament obviously attracted more GMs compared to DATMO. DATMO on the other hand with lesser GMs was on a bigger scale with 111 participants compared to the 60-70 in the Philippines. My responsibilities too was the same but since I did not do the bulletins this time, I could spend more effort on the tournament website (chessasia.net). The experience setting up and updating the site with links, pictures and results was invaluable.

I guess I’ve been blogging for too long. Just like a chess player, as a programmer and webmaster, my web skills were rusty as I had not practiced them. Doing the website was just what I needed to be up to speed again.
