For the third time, chess was highlighted live on Vietnam national TV.
Perfect Creature dvd Last night was the closing ceremony and it was no less a grand affair like the Opening Ceremony and Cultural night. I’m happy to have attended at least 2 out of the 3.

These are the youngsters who are the top 5 winners of the World Youth 2008 in the Under 8 Open category.
Resurrecting the Champ divx They are Tran Minh Thang of Vietnam, Olamaei Alireza of Iran, Liu Xiangyi of China, Liao Yu Hao of China, and Jonathan Chiang of the USA. Who knows. One of them may become the World Champion one day.

Today is departure day and I’m following the Malaysian team on the same bus. We are leaving early even though the flight is in 7 hours. Better be safe than sorry.

It takes 3 hours by bus from Vung Tau to Ho Chin Minh airport which is 120 km away.
I can’t wait to get back and be back in KL again. No more chess at least for some time. Have to take a break from chess.

Graffitti left on the giant Knights outside of the entrance of the Stadium for the World Youth Chess Championship 2008. With 73 countries taking part both the Knights are filled with word.
Ok. I left my mark there too 
Antitrust movie It’s been a long tournament here. I have not been sleeping well but the experience is memorable. I have never seen so many foreign chess players before in my life. Also I learnt some new things in updating websites and valuable shortcuts that will come in handy in the future.
Most of the delegates will be returning home tomorrow. The Malaysian team did remarkably well considering this is an International event and youth tournaments are always tough.
