Escape from Alcatraz psp

Excel Academy has a new series of tournaments involving chess with classical time controls over the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

It’s held on the Friday of every month. First one starts on August 7. I think it’s great  have more classical chess activities as besides there are very few such events in Malaysia.

Remember the world chess championship between Kasparov-Karpov is Seville, Spain?

It was one of the most memorable for me as I followed the news from newspapers as there was no internet then (1987). We didn’t have the games immediately back then – just the results a day or two later.

According to Chessdom reports Kasparov and Karpov will play a 12-game match from 21 to 24 September, 2009, in Valencia.

My money is on Kasparov of course. Karpov is still strong but has been on the decline for a long time.
