Contrary to what many think, my main job is not as a chess blogger. I cannot survive just from blogging

I am a freelance web programmer and I make a decent living out of it. The last few weeks I feel exactly like the title above. A potential customer has a problem running his existing customer’s web system. It’s a bug which is strange but if I am allowed to “look under the hood” ie look at the program’s coding, I’m very sure I can find and fix the bug easily. This person knows that but if I were to do that, I have to charge for my services. So he makes phone calls and try to get clues as where the potential bug may lie. He even has 2 new web programmers trying to fix the problem. I guess  he just wants to save money. After 2 weeks the bug is not yet fixed and I’ve shut off my phone for a day because it’s getting annoying.

Anyway if I were agree to fix the bug, my charges would have to be doubled taking account the time wasted answering his calls.I can’t believe how stingy some bosses can be. I guess that’s how you become rich – by being a miser.
