When I first started GilaChess it was because I was so addicted to chess during my school years that when the internet came along it was a fantastic place for me to put up news and materials related to chess.
Over the years it has grown beyond what I’d imagined it would become. It is now [...]
Did Mas make the GM norm?
Sorry for the last two post titles being question marks. I just don’t know how GM norms are given or calculated.
Mas lost his second game which we hoped he would win as that would have given him the GM norm. However, last night’s final round, Mas managed to beat Misho Cebalo who is ELO rated [...]
Mas has a chance for GM norm
Mas is playing at the 41st Biel International Chess Festival and has scored a fantastic 6.5/9 rounds and now faces GM Evgeny Gleizerov ( FIDE 2549) in round 10 (For GM Evgeny’s photo go to http://hairulovchessmaniacs.blogspot.com/ ) .I am guessing that the game should start around 8pm Malaysian time.I spoke to Mas this morning & [...]
