Chess is a universal game understood by different cultures and races. Unfortunately chess blogs aren’t. English is common but there are other languages too. I found a new plugin that translates the blog into 48 different languages. Of course the translations are less than perfect but it gets the gist of the blog post across (most of the time :) ).

I really wanted to go to Ipoh last weekend for the 1st Perak Grand Prix leg but had no transport.

Anyway, I hope I can get some pictures of the historic event where a record 189 players turned up to participate. I want to include that in the results at Gilachess.com and the wiki.

One of my regrets since starting GilaChess somewhere in 1999 was that I did not backup the various chess results.

Consequently many years of results were lost when I changed servers. I’m trying to archive all the results I have now using a Wiki. Starting from this year onwards. I’ll move backwarks to past years when I have the time.
