Got "Semangat"
With the DATMO and Merdeka just around the corner my heart is beating faster. Getting anxious now..
Even Chessbase is running Edwin’s article on DATMO. For me, I’ve been diligently backing up my notebook’s data in preparation to format it and make it a real pure GilaChess Notebook. I want to improve on my chess skills and seeing that I have no coach like those lucky kids have nowadays, I turn to technology as my coach.
Planning to install the following:
- ChessBase 9
- Chess Assistant 9
- Megabase 2007 (with playerbase so that I can find out more about new players in DATMO)
- Tactical Chess exercises like Renko 3500+ tactics and similiar
- PGN/CBH game versions of the books I have such as Grunfeld, Caro and Scandinavian so that I can play thru the games from the without the board.
- Chessmaster 11 (to see if there are any new useful chess videos)
- Chess Videos (Roman Labs and Foxy series)
What about you guys? I’m sure many are planning to or already seriously sparring and preparing for the Merdeka, AmBank and DATMO. Or do you just wait until last minute to decide to play or not 
Don’t wait too long though. There is a deadline for all those tournaments.
Don’t forget to drop in the weekly OUG Chess meet if you are around that area. Regretfully I have to give that a pass as I’m working tonight on some writing assignments on the web. After that, I will be watching Searching for Bobby Fischer as I’ve just got hold of the DVD.
PS: I’ll definitely go to the OUG chess meet next week as it’s only 10 minutes away from where I live.
