Average rating of Mas opponent = 2393.222

Even though this performance is not good enough for a GM norm but this looks to be a turning point for Mas. This is so far his best result. There are no more “accidents” losing to weaker opponents like the last few tournaments and I think Mas is gaining confidence in his own play against GM which is very important.

Commendable performance considering Mas played in another gruelling 11-round tournament a week before. Mas finished in 10th position in a relatively strong field that comprise 7 GMs and 14 IMs.
