My first WIM and other Round 4 pictures
WIM Lisa Lumongdong (ELO 2147). This is the first time I’ve played against a WIM.
Of course I lost. However I’m satisfied with my opening as I did pretty well there despite coming in one hour late.
I am happy because I could play without fear (since there was no chance in hell I can win
) . I sacrificed a pawn early in the opening to which my surprise Lumongdong accepted. I had 3 pieces developed for that one pawn sac. Normally this cheap trick would work in a fast allegro tourney against slightly weaker opponents. In fact it has! Against someone like her, it didn’t
The WIM took a long time to think in the opening and gave back the pawn to develope her pieces. (Something rarely seen in my normal games)
I lost in the Rook+ Knight ending with a couple pawns down.
Sorry la. Another picture of the WIM because this okay be one of the rare times I get to play one.
Justin Ong beat Kamaluddin Yusof in Round 4.
Ronnie drew with Kamal Abdullah.
Two NMs/FMs battling it out.
Yee Weng won.
Kaushal won.
