Round 5: GilaChess vs Lim Kian Hwa
My game vs Lim Kian Hwa (Round 5) I’m White and black has just captured a pawn on e4. My turn to move and I chose the horrible Qa1. After Qxf4 I lost very fast. There was a better way to defend this position.

After beating him in Merdeka rapids, I was confident I could beat him again (ha ha.. pride goes before a fall). But Ir Lim is a tough nut to crack in longer time controls.
One would be forgiven to think you were conspiring to drop the point as quickly as possible. In the last few moves you just freed his 2 bishops which rendered your position untenable immediately. There appeared to be no plan at all apart from pushing the a and b pawns up the board as far as possible. Wonder why you play well 1 day and badly the next.
My guess is you tend to play very fast and still have lots of time in the end.
I have never played well in any of the rounds. My games were terrible. Like you said, this game is typically how I played in the other games. Aimlessly.. no plan 
Played fast in most of the games but against Lim, I played to the last 5 minutes. Didn’t play fast at all.
I had an interesting experience playing against u. U deserve the win.. thanks for making me realised which area to improve myself..!! U can play better game if u put ur mind into it..
I think you played too carefully and gave me too much “respect”. If you had played actively, I would surely have lost.
I think i played badly… i don’t know what happened to me.. but u did well in taking advantage of the position.. Till we meet again in our next match!
You fell for the cheap tricks I use repeatedly in my online games. I didn’t know it would work in a serious game too 
Pathethic really, because that’s how a patzer like me survive. Relying on cheap opening tricks
Once you know how to avoid it (which is easy), there’s little chance of me gaining the same sort of opening advantage ..

Haiya, you didn’t tell me that you are meeting with Ir. Lim…I still have the untested secret weapon vs him due to my club experience with Sarawakian players from 1997-2000.
