Taylor’s Open (22/06/2008)
Not many people know this but prior to being a computer programmer, I was also a computer programming lecturer for several years. I taught computer programming in Taylors for about 6 months somewhere after the SARS virus episode when they could not get enough quota of Canadian lecturers to teach in Malaysia. Although it was a temporary position, the experience was memorable. Nice to be back playing in a chess competition there. Funny thing was back then, they had a chess club with playing weekly playing sessions and I always wanted to drop by but never got around to it. Good to see that the college has grown more active in chess - organising their own tournaments.
