We need a place to play chess!
Hi , i do not haave any comment here , however , i am trying to look for a chess club here which i can send my 9 year old girl for it.
She likes to play chess , and i wanted to improve on her moves. Since she is interested to play chess i do not want to kill the interested i might as well send her somewher to learn. We are residing in Subang Jaya and hope to get a centre near by.
tq

I’ve been getting more and more comments like these from chess newcomers and parents asking if there is a place to meet up and play chess (and also to learn). Sadly, I don’t think we do have any clubs or meeting places for chess. Not on a regular basis anyway. Sure, we have our many one-day weekend tournaments but we also need some place to play friendly chess.
There are those ‘hard core’ gilachess players like the ones in Johor that meet up regularly for sparring session. From what I heard, they’ve been improving so much that each one of those players are all rated now.
Perhaps that’s one of the missing ‘chess culture’ component we don’t have compared to countries like Indonesia and Phillipines.
